September Genealogical Program: Finding Ancestors in Newspapers

Newspapers are a fantastic source of research leads, information and historical context for your family history. The stories of our ancestors' lives, from birth to death and everything in between, can be found in the pages of archived newspapers.

Jeanette Sheliga will teach us the best approach to achieve success in locating the news on your ancestors as we host a free program, “ Above the Fold; Your Ancestors in the News” on Wednesday, September 27th, 7:00pm at 215 Niagara Street in Lockport, NY.

Jeanette is a member of the board for the Niagara County Genealogical Society and the organizer of the North Tonawanda Library Genealogy Club. She is a music teacher by day and spends much of her free time on her favorite hobby of genealogy. Jeanette has been a genealogy guest lecturer for many local societies and libraries over the past 6 years.
