Town of Royalton Bicentennial Festivities

The Town of Royalton Historical Society will be kicking off The Town’s Bicentennial Celebration with a dinner at the Niagara Orleans Country Club on Saturday, April 8, 2017. There is a limited number of tickets available for sale at 20.00 per person. This will include dinner and dancing with a cash bar.

The Town was established on April 5, 1817. To commemorate this historic 200th birthday of the Town, in 2015 the Historical Society formed a Bicentennial Committee to plan celebrations throughout the year 2017. This kick off dinner will be the first of 6 major events to take place in the town.

In July, we will hold a July 4th Breakfast for Veterans and First Responders. This will take place at the Gasport Chemical Hose Company. Vets and First Responders will be free and their guests will be 5.00 each. Children under the age of 5 will also eat for free. The hours of the breakfast are from 8AM-11AM

Saturday, July 22nd will be the Royalton Summer Sizzler 200 at the Terry’s Corners Fire Hall on Chestnut Ridge Rd. There will be free concerts featuring seven bands, Nerds Gone Wild, Carl Dixson, Strictly Hip, Jonesie, Dirty Blond, Dave Viterna and Last Call. We will also have a good number of local food trucks from around Western New York. To help offset the cost of this event, we will have a money raffle. We will be giving away 20,000.00 in cash prizes. We’ll be selling 350 tickets only, at the cost of 100.00 each.

Sunday, August 27 at the Royalton Ravine Park we will have a local Community Day event. This will start out with a non-denominational church service at 10:30 followed by local crafters and artists from around the area, as well as local businesses, organizations and fire companies. We will have the Wild Kritters of WNY there as well and a small basket raffle.

Saturday, September 9th will be a community picnic in the Village of Middleport. We will be piggy backing off the incredibly successful car show that runs on Sunday the 10th of September. We will be featuring the Nickel City Reptiles from noon to 3:00 and hoping to have some kiddie rides that day as well. We’ll be having a community picnic at 4:00 followed by an evening for the adults at the Middleport fire hall with music and dancing. More details will be available when the event draws closer.

Our final event is our Closing Ceremony on Saturday, October 21 at the Terry’s Corners Fire Hall. This again will be a night of dinner and dancing and tickets will be 20.00 each, pre-sale only.

We have been working on a community cookbook that will be available for sale after the Kick Off Dinner in April. We currently have calendars for sale at Town Hall and Village Hall that features over 100 historic photos as well as MANY events that will take place around the Town in 2017.

If you are interested in tickets, sponsoring or participating in any of our events please contact Jennifer Bieber at 716-735-7335 or email Royalton2017@aol.com. We look forward to making this a historic year and would like everyone that is in the Town and surrounding areas to participate.
