Lockport Express Fall Flat Friday Against Pittsburgh

The Lockport Express returned home after a long road trip to face the Pittsburgh Vengeance. Their efforts fell flat in a 7-3 loss to the visiting team Friday evening at the Cornerstone Ice Arena.

There was a lack of urgency by the Express right from the faceoff. The Vengeance pressured Lockport right from the get-go, beating them to the puck and winning the battles along the walls. PIttsburgh was able to convert that into an early lead with a goal by Cam Williams.

The Express showed some signs of life by taking the next two goals in the first period, to finish the first twenty minutes with a 2-1 lead. The top scorers for Lockport added more to their totals with those goals. Dominic Senese and Andrew Logar each scored with the other assisting on their respective tallies.

The second period belonged to Pittsburgh as the Vengeance scored five straight goals. Cam Williams added his second goal of the night, and was joined by Brian Dee with a pair during that period, as well as Thomas Polster and Vincent Casale.

Gibson Stuart fired a rocket from the top of the circle that found the back of the net in the third period. That was the end of the scoring for Lockport for the night. Brian Dee completed the hat trick to add another insurance marker for Pittsburgh just a couple minutes later.
