Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Crisis, we here at Niagara’s Watercooler have done what we can to stay as not bored as possible while being effectively cooped up at home. While we’re not minimizing this public health issue by any means, we do realize there’s a number of us who are home with our families.
And we are bored.
And, sometimes when a person is bored, a fun idea or two can emerge.
With that in mind, we would be blind to not see that the lack of March Madness this year has brought about many people releasing their own brackets on social media consisting of either movies, music, or TV shows. These aren’t necessarily “best of” brackets, but are more catered to each individual bracketologist.
The guys who you listen to on our podcast, The Dads Must Be Crazy, have well established themselves as fans of both pop culture and of family time. So on Saturday morning - Day 6 of our Coronablog if you’re counting - Howie took it upon himself to make a bracket.
Because like everyone, he was bored.
That’s right, it’s the Inaugural Niagara’s Watercooler Bracket Vote. To start things off on what we hope becomes an annual happening, we’re asking you, our readers and followers, to vote on board games...and many other games in our bracket of 64.
The seeding was mostly random, although there are a few games that were no-brainers in their respective regions. For instance, in the Rainy Day Region, Monopoly is the top seed. The Rainy Day Region will face off against the winner of the Classics, Cards, and Dice Region in the semifinal, and the top seed in that part of the bracket is Chess.
On the other side of the tourney, Candyland is the no. 1 game in the Nostalgia Region. Its semifinal opponent is the eventual winner from the Game Night Region, which features The Game of Life as the top seed.
been set up for each matchup. Voting for the first round will start immediately with the wrap up coming at the end of the day on March 24th. The second round, with updated brackets will start on March 25 and end on the 27th. Stay tuned to the Twitter page as well as the website to keep track of your favorite game(s).
