Genealogical Society to Present Program on African-American Genealogy

The Niagara County Genealogical Society (NCGS), based in Lockport, N.Y., is pleased to have Ms. Linda Hammond, from Buffalo, NY, and a long time genealogist, share her personal journey and strategies with the Western New York public, for exploring your African American family history. Ms. Hammond will:
  • Help you start your family tree during her presentation
  • Motivate and highlight how getting started is easier than you think
  • Share specific resources, terms and rules for finding your African American family members
  • Explain how to organize your information
The presentation is free and open to the public. Two free memberships to the NCGS will be raffled off at the end of the presentation and informational handouts and genealogical forms will be available to all participants. Refreshments will also be served following the completion of the presentation.
