Lockport, August 29, 2017 – Much of the state of Texas, along with other portions of the southern part of the United States, has been devastated by Hurricane Harvey and the torrential floods that follow the storm. Some residents of Lockport are teaming up with the animal rescue group Rescued Treasures out of Rochester, NY to put together supplies that will be used to help displaced pets and animals in need throughout the region. Donations will be taken starting Tuesday August 29th through Friday September 1st.
The group needs items such as crates, carriers, dog food, cat food, cat litter, pee pads, newspaper, bleach, clean buckets, spray bottles, towels, and anything else that could be used to comfort or help animals as they are rescued. Drop-off points have been set up in three spots around Lockport. Anyone wishing to donate any item can go to any one of the three drop-off spots during their business hours. All items will be collected on Saturday afternoon by Rescued Treasures and taken to Texas. The drop-off points are:
