Living With Kids (Episode 1) - Nap Time

I live with a two year old and a four year old. This is my story, and I am sticking to it.

Kids are confusing because all of the things I like to do, they hate. Both my little ones hate eating, although the two-year-old can get on a roll and down more food than even I could eat. But the four-year-old is not a big fan of eating. He has more important things to do like ask to do things he is not allowed to do and getting upset when he is told "no."
I love to nap. Maybe it is because I am old, maybe because I get bored sometimes. I will watch the two-year-old wander around the house, doing absolutely nothing in particular, and reaching the point where I would just throw in the towel and go nap. But as soon as his father picks him up to go nap, the bells and whistles wail into the air like he was being dragged under by an unseen Great White Shark.
My son, the babies' father, has this ability to cradle a screaming two-year-old and put the baby to sleep within minutes. I not only find that talent fascinating, but I really appreciate it as well.
We used to do nap time for the four-year-old, but like I said...he's a busy kid. Eventually the Sandman catches up to the four-year-old and some days he does nap. But nap time around here is filled with wails and screams that wouldn't allow anyone to sleep. And we would not have it any other way.

George N Root III is the proud grandfather to two healthy baby boys. May David Gilmour have mercy on his soul.
