Catching Up With the Lockport Express Week 18

Lockport came away with 2 points over the weekend out of a possible six. As the number of games wind down, the points get tighter and more important, the Express will need to grab more points each week if they are to make the playoffs. Currently, they trail the Roc City Royals by 7 points for the final playoff spot in the Northeast Division.

The Express will play a pair of games this weekend, a home and home series against the Pittsburgh Vengeance. The first game will be Friday evening at the Cornerstone Ice Arena in downtown Lockport, at 8:00pm. The second will be in Pittsburgh Saturday evening at 6:30pm in the Alpha Ice Complex.

Meanwhile, in the playoff watch, the Roc City Royals are coming off a pair of losses to the Northeast Generals over the weekend. They will be in Rochester at the Lakeshore Hockey Arena for a trio of games against the league-leading Binghamton Junior Senators.

While Lockport has lost both previous meetings with the Pittsburgh Vengeance, the Express have greatly improved since those games in October. After the return of Frank Vecchio to the bench, the team has put several “W’s” in the win column.
