Express Derailed By Binghamton

Binghamton Junior Senators continued to dominate the Northeast Division with a resounding 7-1 win over the visiting Lockport Express Saturday evening. After starting the season with three consecutive wins, the Express have dropped the last three games, and have only been able to tally 2 goals in that time.

Binghamton dominated the first period with 3 goals on 23 shots. The Express were able to garner only 7 shots in the opening frame. Binghamton scorers were Tyler Uravage, Ryan Flanagan, and Brad Becker.

Andrew Logar scored the lone goal for Lockport 8:33 into the second period. Luca Mazzo and Dominic Senese assisted on the goal. Binghamton added to their lead with Tyler Uravage’s second goal of the night.

The third period saw a trio of goals by the Junior Senators. Ryan Reifler scored two goals, and Conor Landrigan had one. Binghamton had nine different players get points during the contest.

Binghamton outshot the Express 52-26. Sam Fitzpatrick had 45 saves on the night for Lockport. Steven Schmitt notched the win for the home team. It was a penalty-filled affair with 18 infractions on the night. Lockport was 1 for 10 on the power play, and Binghamton was 2 for 8 with the man advantage.

The same two teams play each other again Sunday morning at 11:30 at the Ice House Sports Complex in Binghamton.
