After a month long layoff for the Niagara Falls PowerHawks, they will be back in action at the Hyde Park Ice Pavilion this weekend for a pair of games against the visiting Skylands Kings. The games on Saturday and Sunday, are set to get underway at 6:00pm and 1:00pm respectively.
The PowerHawks last saw action October 13-15 when they played a game against the Southern Tier Xpress and a pair against the Oswego Stampede. Niagara Falls came away with 3 out of a possible 6 points after losing 4-3 in overtime against the Xpress, and splitting the series with Oswego with a 6-4 loss and a 5-2 victory. The PowerHawks’ power play continues to rank near the top of the NA3HL at third, with a 50% scoring rate with the extra man.
Skylands are coming off a trio of games last weekend against the Jersey Shore Wildcats. The Kings lost all 3 games by a combined score of 21-7. Eric Vanderhoff and Craig Garrigan continue to lead the team in scoring, teaming up for 8 points over the weekend.
The next games for the PowerHawks will be November 16th at Southern Tier Xpress and a pair of games in Binghamton against the Junior Senators November 18th and 19th. The next home games for Niagara Falls after this weekend will be December 9th and 10th against the Jersey Shore Wildcats.
