Genealogical Society to Hold Workshop January 21st

Not sure how to get started tracing your family tree? Maybe you’re a seasoned genealogist looking to shake up the nuts in your tree? This is the session you won’t want to miss! The Niagara County Genealogical Society will hold a ‘Beginning Genealogy” workshop on Saturday, January 21st at 1:00pm in the community room of the Lockport Public Library.

Niagara County Genealogical Society Board Chairman and author of a recently published book on St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Lockport, NY, Shelley Richards, will be sharing her trials and tribulations as well as the basics of researching her own family during this 1.5 hour workshop.

Shelley has been tracing her own family for 18 years and will share key organizational strategies, documentation best practices as well as online and in-person resources for chronicling your own family history. You will walk away with key resources and skills to give you the confidence to say “I can do this!”

You don’t have to be a member to attend!  Hope to see you there!
