Two Lockport players were honored by the NA3HL for their play over the weekend. Goaltender, Sam Fitzpatrick was given the Star of the Week for the Northeast Division. Fitzpatrick stopped 41 of 42 shots as he picked up his win against Jersey Shore. “Fitz is the backbone of our team in goal, and he played like the number one that he is on Saturday night,” said Frank Vecchio. Also given an Honorable Mention by the league was newcomer Blake Bennett. In six games with the Express, Bennett has tallied 6 goals and 2 assists.
The Express are currently in Blaine, Minnesota where they will be playing a trio of games throughout the weekend. All 48 teams in the NA3HL are on hand, and the stands will be filled with college scouts. It is the perfect place for each player to showcase his talents. Lockport will kick off the weekend Friday evening with a match against the Glacier Nationals. Saturday afternoon they face off against College Station Spirit, and Sunday morning they wrap up against the Helena Bighorns.
Once the Express return to Lockport, they will be off for the holidays and New Year. They return to action January 7th and 8th in New Jersey as they take on the Jersey Shore Wildcats. The next home game for the Lockport will be January 21st at 8pm when they play the rival, Roc City Royals. All home games can be heard on niagaraswatercooler.com
