Catching Up With the Lockport Express: Week 3

The Lockport Express head out on the road this weekend for a pair of games against the Jersey Shore Wildcats Friday and Saturday evenings. Lockport comes off a weekend that saw the team continue their winning ways with a pair of wins over the Roc City Royals. Meanwhile, the defending champion Wildcats have found themselves winless so far this young season.

Dominic Senese, Andrew Logar, and Luca Mazzo continue to have strong starts to the season, while Sam Fitzpatrick has led the team with outstanding play between the pipes. Senese leads the team with 11 points in 3 games, while Logar leads the team with 5 goals. Fitzpatrick and Adam Partridge have combined for 146 saves on 156 shots, giving them a .932 save percentage.

Over the weekend against Roc City, Senese, Logar, and Mazzo combined for 16 points with 8 goals and 8 assists.

For Jersey Shore, goaltender Rio Virgoe has made 72 saves on 78 shots with a 2.99 GAA and .917 save percentage. Dylan Plsek leads the team with 2 points, a goal and an assist. Six other players on the team have at least a point.

In the last two seasons facing Jersey Shore, if there’s one thing that’s been learned, it’s that the Wildcats should never be counted out. As we’ve seen, the team is very dangerous on the power play. Lockport will need to play a more disciplined game and not give Jersey Shore those man-advantage opportunities.
