The Stingrays had 12 swimmers qualify and swim in the YMCA New York State Championship Swim Meet, held in March at the UB pool. The college hosted over 1,400 swimmers from across the state.

Among those swimmers, three finished in the Top 3 in the state. Madison Fragale finished 3rd in the 50 Breaststroke, with a time of 39.98. Aiden Moran placed 3rd in the 100 Free, with a time of 1:18.00. Mark Crocker finished 2nd in the 100 Fly with a time of 57.45. Crocker also set two team records this season -- the 200 Yard Freestyle, and the 100 yard Butterfly.
The Stingrays awarded Maddie Timkey and Ramsey Ross as the Most Improved Swimmers this season. Cianna Conklin and Mark Crocker were recognized for their motivation, determination, and good sportsmanship by receiving the Stingray Award.
Gina Artieri was the recipient of the Don Richards Memorial Award. This is awarded to a swimmer who exemplifies dedication, sportsmanship, and Christian character, in memory of Don Richards.
Meghan Mietlicki was the recipient of the William J. Smith Memorial Award. Meghan was recognized for her outstanding ability, sportsmanship, and Christian character.
The Stingrays invite anyone to come out and join the YMCA Swim Team in the fall, as they look forward to another successful swim season in 2016-2017.
